Greetings parents and students,
I have been teaching for nearly two decades. For the past 13 years, I have been teaching 6th grade mathematics. I am a firm believer that practice and asking specific math questions and engaging activities are the biggest ways that students learn to appreciate math or any subject.
Students have to think about how they feel about math. Do they love math? Do they dislike math? If they do not like math, then what has been the biggest challenge? The 6th grade year is a critical one in determining how the rest of middle school will look academically.
